Our Team

All our coaching team wear the Team Front Runner badge with pride and we have a strong internal professional development culture to ensure our coaches continue to learn, grow and develop to help you achieve your goals. Empathy, knowledge and experience drive successful coaching and we focus on continuing to develop in all areas.

Our Coaching team cover all levels from beginner through to elite professionals. All our coaches are fully accredited, tertiary qualified and former or current World Class Professional athletes themselves.

  • Development Triathlon Coach– Derek Cross (B.Eng; Level 1 TA; Former pro Long Course Triathlete and 8.42 Ironman)
  • Advanced Triathlon Coach– Thomas Bruins (B.Eng; Level 1 TA; Current World #2 Powerman Duathlete)
  • Elite/Professional Triathlon Coach– Raf Baugh (B.Sc Physio; Level 1 TA; Former World #3 ITU Professional Duathlete)

Our Principles

All our programmes maintain a core focus on the following five pillars:

How we can help 

We can help a little or help alot. Some athletes have been with us for more than 10 years and others are brand new. These are some of the ways we can help.

  • Group Training With up to 18 weekly group training sessions all with defined Skill and/or Physiological basis, our team can help a little or help alot. See our schedule HERE
  • Event Training Programmes: 

This is the recommended service for those with a goal that is 6-12 weeks away. If you have a target or goal event, our coaching experts can add expertise, logic and experience to help you beat your best.

This is our most popular longitudinal coaching service which has helped transform recreational athletes to their full potential. If you are motivated, our coaching experts can add expertise, logic and experience to take you to your potential. Delivered via the Training Peaks Platform.

  • Monthly 1 on 1 consultation with your coach for alignment and load monitoring
  • Email correspondence with your coach
  • Group training sessions (up to 5 per week)
  • Analytical, directed training to deliver you evidence based strategies

  • Confidence of over 97% goal attainment.
